Guard Checkpoint privacy policy
Effective 16 September 2026. Guard Checkpoint is operated by Vince Panozzo. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions.
Information used by the service
The service stores guard names, guard identifiers, company and site assignments, and email addresses supplied by administrators. Phone registration records include an app-generated identifier, app version, device name, registration time and access status. Administrators may name phones and retain their name-change history.
Patrol records include the guard and phone identifiers, checkpoint and tag identifiers, visit times, shift and patrol details, delivery times and notes entered by users. A checkpoint visit identifies the location associated with that checkpoint. The app does not request GPS location permission or continuously track your location.
Website agreement acceptance
When you accept the website terms, we retain your account ID, username and displayed name at acceptance, the server-recorded acceptance date and time, the agreement version and exact wording, and your acknowledgement of the privacy notice presented with that version. These records provide an audit of acceptance. You can view your own receipts; authorised account administrators can view records within their existing access permissions. Acceptance does not give consent to unrelated marketing or waive your statutory rights.
Why this information is used
These records support authorised phone registration, access control, patrol reporting, troubleshooting and audit history. The app stores pending records locally and submits them to the Guard Checkpoint server when connectivity permits. Your site's authorised administrators and supervisors can access records within their permissions. Reports may be emailed to recipients configured by the site.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides website traffic protection and Turnstile verification for account sign-in. Verification processes network and browser or device information to distinguish legitimate requests from automated abuse. The email service provider processes recipient addresses and the messages sent by the system, including registration keys and patrol reports. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Storage and retention
Records remain in the system for reporting and audit purposes until removed by an authorised administrator. Revoking a phone or deactivating a guard does not delete historical records. Backups may retain earlier copies. Pending scans are stored on the phone until the server confirms receipt; uninstalling the app can remove local records that have not been uploaded.
Your choices
Ask your site administrator or contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. We will consider the request in the context of site recordkeeping requirements. Avoid including unnecessary personal information about other people in patrol notes.
Demonstration mode
The built-in demonstration uses fictional records. Demonstration patrol activity is not sent to the server and is discarded when the demonstration closes.
Changes
Updates to this policy will be published here with a revised effective date.
